Hi, I'm Edit Choochage

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker who will help you feel that you are in control of your life, reconnected in your relationships, and motivated for your day.

I believe that you deserve someone in your corner during difficult times. As your therapist, I will help you learn the skills and tools you need to work through the emotional suffering in your life. You deserve happiness and wellbeing.

What does it feel like to be in therapy with me?

My approach is warm, guided and patient. I want to know your story and help you identify the areas in your life that cause you overwhelming stress and that do not feel good to you. We will practice new ways for you to face your pain and achieve the goals you wish to see for yourself.

By creating new habits and increasing your self-awareness you begin to see the results from therapy. As a therapist, there is nothing I find more meaningful than connecting with people in therapy to help them release the pain and suffering in their life.

We will focus on tangible techniques to help you change the way you manage the stress and pain in your life for the long-term. Our work together will put you in the driver’s seat so that you can decrease your stress and increase joy and peace of mind. By practicing the skills together in therapy, you will create healthier habits to help you restore balance in your life, including feeling connected in your relationships.

Between sessions, I will have you record what worked and what did not work when you faced the pain. It is important to me to know what is helping after the sessions and what is not and make the necessary adjustments.

If you are coming to Oasis for couples counseling, and are like many of the couples I work with, you are struggling with communication, and that is leading to hurt, not feeling heard, and likely creating issues with intimacy.

I help couples every day restore the love and connection in their relationships. We will work on the problems you are coming in to solve through role plays, and exercises and I will give you homework to practice at home. My goal is to help you understand what one another needs in the relationship so you can feel loved and connected to your partner.

Clinical Training and Practice

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge and my Master's in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California. Over the last 12 years, I have worked with people just like you, everyday, that struggle with pain and suffering in their life. I have helped people who have felt disconnected in their relationships, lost in their marriage, felt deep sadness after losing someone they love, or were living in chronic stress or fear.

Therapy is a place for you to regain control in your life. My work with you is to ensure that with each session you feel like you are back in the driver seat of your life even amidst the chaos or stress.

If you are dealing with loss, transition, a break-up, lack of motivation or drive then know you can get help. I am determined to teach you the skills that will shift the way you think about and interact with your pain and overwhelming stress.

I will show you how to gain mastery over your thoughts through exercises and role plays so you can regain the control in your life, in your relationships and in the decisions you make every day.

I have experience working with a spectrum of diverse clients with respect to gender, race/ethnicity, religion/spirituality, sexual orientation, and ability.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the CA Board of Behavioral Sciences, LCSW 74877.

I work from a holistic approach. Together we will look at all the areas in your life that are impacting you and decide what changes you want to see. Drawing upon my clinical expertise, I will guide you in therapy by using techniques that are rooted in evidence that work. I am excited to get to know you and work together so you can start seeing a change immediately in your life.
